Arrest warrant issued for suspect in Myles Standish State Forest shooting death

State Police and Plymouth County DA Tim Cruz are seeking the public’s help to locate John Geovanni Pires Monteiro Macedo wanted in connection with the death of Robert Aponte-Flores on Wednesday in the state forest.

Anyone with information is urged to call the State Police at 1-800-KAPTURE.

Aponte-Flores of New Bedford, 24, died from gun shot wounds at BI Deaconess Hospital - Plymouth Wednesday afternoon.

Cruz did not say which town Macedo, 20, is known to reside or release additional details relative to the nature of the altercation at Fearing Pond.
