Board of Health considers banning smoking within 30 feet of outdoor dining

By a vote of 4-1 the Board of Health has granted preliminary approval of a town bylaw that would ban smoking within 30 feet of outdoor dining areas.

The Board will hear public comment on the proposed ban at the Wednesday July 26th meeting. Provision K is part a wider second hand smoking regulation under consideration. Specifically within 30 feet of “outdoor areas of restaurants, bars, taverns, and any other outdoors place where food and beverage are sold to the public”
