Fearing Pond picnic area remains closed

Camping is open

The investigators and media swarm are gone but the parking lot at the Fearing Pond picnic area is closed as few traces remain of the deadly shooting that claimed the life of a New Bedford man Wednesday afternoon.

Police issued an arrest warrant late Friday for a man wanted in connection with the crime.

Camping sites around Fearing Pond in Myles Standish State Forest remain open.
