Floyd vigil cancelled, organizers blame threat from "white supremacist groups", not Antifa
Plymouth No Place for Hate, organizers of a "peaceful protest and vigil" to support the Black Lives Matter movement has cancelled an event scheduled for 6:30pm this evening in Brewster Gardens. The announcement of the cancellation came via a post on the Facebook page of the Old Colony Memorial and stated that the vigil was being cancelled due intelligence information received by Plymouth Police "regarding the organized outside agitators (white supremacist groups)". That post has now been edited to say only "regarding the organized outside agitators appearing in towns across our nation."
Antifa, a far left organization, has been widely suspected as contributing to looting and violence during and after peaceful Black Lives Matter demonstrations since the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis .
A virtual vigil will now be hosted on PACTV tonight at 630pm.
